Welcome to the Baillieston War Memorial website. This site is dedicated to the men from this area who gave their lives fighting for this country in World War 1 and World War 2.

The men whose names that will appear on the memorial all come from either BAILLIESTON, SWINTON, BROOMHOUSE, BARGEDDIE, and MOUNT VERNON. Please have a look at the casualty list by clicking on the navigation bar above and if you know of any names that are not mentioned, please contact me and they will be added. I would also be gratefull if any of the families of the men could send me information on them e.g. photographs, stories, medals they received etc.

I'm in the process of applying for funding for the memorial through various funding agencies. I would also gratefully accept donations from local businesses or from the public. If you would like to donate to this worthy cause please contact me for information on were you can make any donations. I'm also looking for local people to help with some of the duties involved with the memorial. One of these duties would be to set up a commitee for the war memorial, local historians would be ideal, but no experience is necessary, just a little bit of your time now and again. If you would like to get involved please dont hesitate to contact me.
